Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) Upper Body
Location: Swedish Institute (NYC)
Open to Massage Therapists.
In this two-day workshop, participants will focus on the upper body and neck. We will review muscle action and function, along with AIS principles for stretching clients in a clinical setting. We will explore the deepest tissues of the body with precision and with movements that increase the flow of blood and oxygen to over-contracted and over-stretched tissues. This class is based on Aaron Mattes’ 40 years of experience in soft tissue rehabilitation. We will review some self-help stretching as well as strengthening protocols for therapists’ longevity. If you are working in a clinical environment or want to, this work can change your approach forever.
